If the phone does not turn on, the screen is black; there is no LED light or no sign of powering up, you must first make sure that the phone's battery is not fully exhausted.
- Connect the phone to the charger for at least 5 to 10 minutes to allow the battery to charge.
- Make sure you are using a charger and original HTC cable and check the wall outlet to make sure the charger is powered. It is best to charge the phone through a wall outlet instead of using a USB connection when looking to solve power-related problems.
- Generally, the notification LED will illuminate when the phone is charging. If the battery level is too low, it may take up to 2 minutes for the LED notification to change.
- If the LED notification flashes, the battery may be too low to power up. Wait until the light becomes permanent.
If the phone still does not turn on, holding down, certain hardware buttons may force the phone to restart.
How can I restart the phone with hardware buttons?
Try clicking on each of these combinations of buttons for up to 2 minutes or until the phone switches:
- Press the VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN, and POWER simultaneously.
- Press the VOLUME UP and ON simultaneously.
- Press the VOLUME DOWN and POWER simultaneously.
Attention: Be sure not to select the other options on the screen. Doing so may void the warranty or lock the phone.
Warning: Some phone models may not have a notification LED.
